The NCR Dolphins were represented by the smallest amount of swimmers in years at the annual Princemont All Star Meet held at Whitehall Pool and Tennis Club in Bowie on Saturday.
One girl (Elizabeth Mehalick) and four boys (James Mehalick, Danny Sheerin, Patrick Sheerin and Alexander Foly) plus coaches and parents and volunteers from NCR withstood the delays, long meet time and the heat to make the swim team proud.
The four boys started it off by finishing 15th in the 200 meter medley relay, still finishing above their initial seed. Likewise, Alexander Foly competed well in the 11-12 Fly, and knocked 3 seconds off his seed time, and finished 12th.
Patrick Sheerin finished 16th in his 15-18 Fly, adding just a fraction of a second to his initial time, while brother Danny Sheerin competed well in the 100 Free, and finished 8th, placing above where he was seeded.
Elizabeth Mehalick got into the act finally, and finished 8th in the 13-14 50 breast, while shaving almost a full second off her seed time. Patrick Sheerin then added a tenth place finish in the 15-18 50 Breast.
