FORT WASHINGTON SWIM TEAM (FW)
13602 Kings Charles Terrace, Captain's Cove,
Fort Washington, MD 20744
Directions: From Capital Beltway, take exit 3A (Indian Head Hwy) Route 210 south approx. 5 miles to Fort Washington Shopping Center. Turn R at traffic light onto Ft. Washington Rd. for approx. 3.2 miles. Turn L onto Warburton Dr. which is the last possible turn before entering the Fort Washington Park. Continue on Warburton until Fort Washington Marina area. Pool is on the right.
Your THIRD gentle reminder to pay for your swimmers on the swim team this week. The swim team board decided this year that no swimmers will be allowed to swim meets without paying for registration.
All NCR Families should donate a FAMILY PACK of NON-FROZEN, SKINLESS, BONELESS CHICKEN BREASTS this weekend. Please deliver them to the pool by Sunday, June 26th, and place them in one of the refrigerators in the snack bar (whoever is cooking that day can show you). This chicken is for our Firecracker Relays, which will occur Tuesday evening at 6pm, and of course, we'll need everybody's help.
We will be pounding and marinating the chicken we all donated to the team over the weekend at 6pm on Monday evening, June 27th in preparation for the Firecracker Relays on Tuesday evening. If you have tenderizers (hammers), cutting boards, sharp knives or scissors, please bring them up and give us a hand. This will be our big fund raiser, and we need everyone to do some part for this to be a success.
As in the section above, the Relays will start at 6pm on Tuesday, June 28th at the pool. Swimmers should be there at 445 pm for our warmups which will begin at 5pm. We will begin setting up at 330-4pm, so again, would like to see some help so we can get it all done. We will also need assistance in cooking, serving, collecting money, etc that evening, so help out as much as possible, don't just stand around. It's a fun meet, but as parents, we need to contribute too, and this is one way we can do this. A limited number of timers will be needed, but mostly, we need help at concessions to feed the large teams that show up.
We need a volunteer to help organize simple social events like the pasta pot luck. That person would be responsible for planning, recruiting more volunteers, and setting up these events (only at our pool). Interested? Please contact Rob Parry:
for more details.
